If your customer is in the same city as your store, a national courier is the wrong tool — the parcel goes to a hub, gets sorted, and arrives tomorrow. Porter skips all of that: a rider collects from your door and drops it across town. Here's how to put that fleet behind your Shopify orders.
When Porter is the right answer
Porter is a hyperlocal courier — it moves goods within a city, not between cities. That makes it the pick for a specific kind of order:
| Order type | Porter | National courier |
|---|---|---|
| Same-city, needs to arrive today | Best — 30–90 min | Next-day at best |
| Small parcel under ~20 kg | Two-wheeler, cheapest | Overkill |
| Bulky / multi-box | Mini-truck options | Depends on weight |
| Out of city / out of state | Not available | The only option |
| COD collection | Supported | Supported |
Bakeries, florists, boutiques, spare-parts sellers, pharmacies — anyone with a local customer base. If more than a third of your orders stay inside your city, hyperlocal will usually beat a national carrier on both speed and price for those lanes.
The setup — four steps
Install Pure Parcel on your Shopify store
Add the app from the listing and approve the standard permissions — it needs to read orders so it can prepare shipments for them.
Enable Porter in Carriers
Flip Porter on. Pure Parcel books it on its fleet account — no Porter app, no separate wallet, no credentials to paste. (Have your own Porter business account? You can plug it in too.)
Save your pickup address
Hyperlocal riders navigate to a pin on a map, so your shop or warehouse address needs to be exact. Set it once under Settings — every booking reuses it.
Quote and book from the order page
Open any same-city order → "Get rates". Porter's live price appears next to every other enabled carrier. Pick it, book it, hand the parcel to the rider. Tracking and COD flow back into the same dashboard.

What you'll actually pay
Porter prices per trip by distance and vehicle — a 4 km two-wheeler hop costs a fraction of a national parcel; a 20 km cross-town run costs more but still lands in the same hour. Because Pure Parcel shows the live rate next to every other carrier before you book, you're never guessing — the cheapest eligible option is marked on the spot.
Two honest caveats: hyperlocal rates vary by city and time of day, and Porter only quotes lanes it can actually serve — an out-of-city order simply won't show a Porter option, which is the correct behaviour. No phantom quotes.

Batch same-city drops
Three deliveries in one direction? Book them together — riders dispatched minutes apart, one pickup wave from your door.
Charge for the speed
"Delivered today" is worth ₹80–150 to most buyers. Offer it as a premium shipping option at checkout instead of eating the cost.
Pack before you book
Hyperlocal riders arrive fast — often under 20 minutes. A parcel that isn't ready is a rider waiting (and sometimes a cancellation fee).
The bottom line
Connecting Porter used to mean a second app, a second wallet and double-entry of every address. Through Pure Parcel it's a toggle — your Shopify order becomes a live quote comparison, and the best option is one click. Same-city customers get same-day delivery; you get a single dashboard for all of it.
Ship every courier without leaving your store
Pure Parcel is the multi-courier layer for Indian stores — hyperlocal and national carriers in one booking flow.
