Between order and delivery, the average buyer checks tracking three to five times. Each check is a visit to a web page — and for most stores, that page is the courier's, where your customer stares at someone else's logo and someone else's upsells. You paid for the traffic; the courier collects it.

The hidden marketing channel

Tracking visits have a property no email can buy: the buyer arrives wanting to know something. That attention is worth using. A branded tracking page does the obvious — status, timeline, expected date — plus the quietly valuable: your logo, your support channel for delivery problems, and your next product line below the fold. Buyers don't resent it; the page that tells them where the parcel is earns the space it uses.

It also does defensive work. "Where is my order" is the single most common support ticket in Indian e-commerce, and most of it is tracking-page anxiety — a stalled status, a cryptic courier event like "manifested to hub". A page that translates courier-speak into buyer language — "left the Mumbai hub, arriving Thursday–Friday" — deflects the ticket before it exists.

Support ticket category in Indian e-com: "where is my order"

What belongs on it

The page needs five things: current status in plain language, the event timeline newest-first, an ETA framed as a range, a support escape hatch for real problems, and your brand. Notably absent: a login, a tracking-number input (the link carries it), and courier jargon like "linehaul arrived" that means nothing to a buyer.

The tracking page is the last page of this order and the first page of the next one.

The bottom line

Tracking traffic is free, high-intent and currently outsourced. A branded page keeps it in your domain, answers the WISMO ticket before it's written, and converts anxious refreshes into the store's most reliable repeat-visit channel.
