Your product has a shelf life measured in hours. That rules out every national courier on day one — but it doesn't rule out couriers. It rules in hyperlocal: a rider who takes your box from kitchen to customer inside the same afternoon.
Why hyperlocal is the only answer
National carriers sort parcels through hubs — fine for a phone case, fatal for a cake. Hyperlocal couriers (Porter, Borzo) do point-to-point: pickup at your door, delivery across town, often within an hour. The parcel never sees a conveyor belt.
The playbook
Batch orders by area
Group same-day orders by neighbourhood — two or three drops booked in one window cost less per parcel than scattered bookings.
Pack for a bike, not a truck
Two-wheeler delivery means rigid boxes, zero tilt tolerance, and a packer who treats every bump personally.
Book when the parcel is ready
Riders arrive in 20–30 minutes — book when packed, not when the order lands.
Charge a delivery fee
Same-day freshness is a premium product. Price delivery at or near cost — free delivery on perishables is margin suicide.

One place, every hyperlocal courier — order comes in, rates compare, rider booked.
See how →The honest limits
Hyperlocal pricing is per-trip, so it scales with distance — long cross-city drops price accordingly. Coverage is metro-strong, tier-2 thinner. And perishables still need your judgement on what's packable — a tiered wedding cake may always be a self-delivery.
The bottom line
WhatsApp takes the order; a rider takes the box. Batch smart, pack rigid, charge for delivery — and 'home bakery' stops meaning 'pickup only'.
